A poem to my 1st born.

Lanakai

It's amazing how, in the blink of an eye, you are now five.

It was not long ago, I held you in my arms for the first time.

Your smile is bigger, you have all your teeth,

your hugs are still warm, and I love your squishy cheeks.

There will be a day, when you go out on your own,

and my heart will be proud knowing that you can do it all alone.

But if you should need me, I'm just a thought away, hear my voice

saying "it will always be ok."

Just keep you head up, your spirits held high,

thank the good lord that your mama was right.

You have my heart,

and you have mine,

forever your mama,

till the end of time.
