A Pirate Birthday

pirate cake

pirate cake

A 3 layer cake. I used 3 9x11 and cut 1 in half. then shaved on the sides of one and used it for propping up the "lid) . Frosting it was tricky, but any mess up's I had I hid with a coin. I also used white fondant for the cover of the cake. but I frosted it before I put on the fondant. I used a chocolate buttercream. Yum!

Pirates booty and seaweed snacks are a pirates food choice. Pretzels are fun to pick up with your hook hand.

With these party treats, these pirates where able to leave with their whole gear. Swords, eye patches, bandannas, and hats.

Skeleton Rock and Ring Toss

Skeleton Rock and Ring Toss

Using stuff left over from Halloween, this easy set up used cones( which you can also use dixie cups) and a plastic hangers. Then glow stick necklaces (purchased at the dollar store) where the rings. Fun! The skeleton rock was a surprise. The children stick their hand inside the mouth and pull out a treat. Done with poster boards.

Pirate setup

The tablecloth I picked up from a yard sale, for $5.00!! The anchors are from my mother, who bought them after Halloween, and the picture frame is from the dollar store. As well as the gold dablooms and the gold tinsel.

Walk the plank

Walk the plank

Using paper plates and foam plates, my mother glued felt shark fins and goldfish to skewer sticks. This tablecloth was purchased at a yard sale as well! A thin 2x4 and some cinder blocks worked quite well for this plank.
